Lynda Burse, CDM,CFPP, Vice President of Nutritional Services, has been involved in the Food Service Industry since 1981, with extensive background in Long Term Care, Restaurant, Canteen and School Food Services. She became a Certified Dietary Manager in May 1991 and received her ServSafe Trainer Certification in 2009., Burse has been at Asbury Park since 2006.
Burse provided key input during the development of the Food Service Programs for the six Green Houses on Asbury Park’s campus. She has taken the initiative to provide the meals for Asbury Station Child Care Center since May of 2010 and for Cooper Station Child Care Center since May 2012, serving approximately 80 children per week day.
While at Asbury Park, she has worked closely with the Ben E Keith Food Service, enabling Asbury Park to be BEK’s first pilot facility in Kansas to develop restaurant-style dining services to Asbury Park’s residents in place of the traditional Health Care/Assisted Living menu program. This Restaurant-Style Dining Program has been a key element in Asbury Park’s path to culture change, for which the organization received a 2011 PEAK (Promoting Excellent Alternatives in Kansas Nursing Homes) Award from the Kansas Department on Aging and was the 2011 winner of the Kansas Five Star Gracious Dining Award presented by DHCC (Dietitians in Healthcare Communities) to the healthcare facility in the state of Kansas that demonstrates Gracious Dining for its Elders.
